I LOVE this time of the year. One of the things I love most is the food! Not only do I love the fruits and veggies in season this time of year, but OOOOOH the stuff you can make!
I'm not too proud to tell you I stuff my face at Thanksgiving and eat whatever Christmas cookie I want. I don't feel bad about it. I just don't. What for? It's what I want, so I'm going to do it.
I don't freak out on Jan. 1 either. I simply see it as a time to review and create goals and start fresh. I guess you could Read more...
Yesterday I had one of those Pretzel Pub Chicken sandwiches from Wendy's. It was not cheap, NOT healthy, and not vegetarian. I got the combo -- with Sprite.
I'm not perfect. I'm trying. When I do something like this, I don't sit there and hate every minute (I LOVED it!) nor do I hate myself after. I'm comfortable knowing that most of what I put in my body follows my "rules." My family orders pizza sometimes. Sometimes, we get Chinese food. Sometimes we eat out -- without coupons! SOMETIMES!

Since it's back-to-school time I figure there's some extra special attention being paid to lunch boxes. This is good because I need to know your favorite lunch box!
My son is only three but has carried two different lunch boxes since starting solids. One was a Thirty-One Gifts lunch box (which was super cute, but got dirty inside and out quick), and the one he carries now (which is super stinky and also dirty).
I'm looking for something

Yesterday I made stuffed shells. I've never made them before, but I was excited to try it out. As with most recipes, it had the ingredients list and then the instructions below that. When I got to the point where I was to make the filling, the recipes read "mix filling ingredients together..." So, reading through the ingredients, I mixed everything from below the pasta to above the pasta sauce (because that doesn't go in the filling, right?). Done and done.
Well, no. Below the pasta sauce Read more...
It's back to school! YAY! YAY! YAY!
Noooooo. I don't have any school-aged kids. Does that mean I can't walk up and down the school supply aisle or try to find a way to get new notebooks to use? Maybe. I love this time of year. I always have. Yes, I loved going back to school.
My boy goes to preschool, and I pack his lunch everyday. I don't have to, but I do for reasons you may or may not understand. We cool. I intend on packing his lunch for the rest of his school career unless things change Read more...

I frequent a lot of blogs about home organization and enjoy searching Pinterest constantly here and there for mostly kitchen ideas. There's always room for improvement if you ask me.
I've see a lot of pantries filled with bins, containers and baskets of stuff. Beautifully labeled and neatly organized, but what the heck is all that?
I don't have a pantry. I have two pull out drawers that house cereal, oats, snacks, like Larabars and apple sauce, canned stuff, and pasta. I stock up when things Read more...
Confession: I went to Target yesterday. I WAS JUST GOING TO GET MILK! But, I did it. I wandered around. Into the kids' clothing section. There they were...those big, beautiful red and white clearance signs. (I didn't get the milk)
By following some of my favorite bloggers on Facebook, I learned of Target's "huge" toy clearance set for Aug. 1. According them, this is some super secret thing that happens at some point in January to get rid of Christmas toys and in July/August to make room for Read more...
I came across this blog by Andrea Dekker (andreadekker.com) while searching Pinterest for "baby list." I was looking for a good list to refresh my memory of what I actually need for baby #2 (and what I could get ride of from baby #1). Her post "Raising and Infant on a Budget" lead me to her post on "Having a Baby on a Budget" which took me to "How I Store and Organize All Out Baby Clothes" which sent me into an obsession reading EVERYTHING she's got.
It's not just baby stuff. It's life stuff. Read more...
I bought a toy for my son and it broke after three days of (what I consider) normal use.
I had a horrible experience at a Pizza Hut.
I pulled out our Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium from storage to use with “baby dos,” and the water had leaked out.
I emailed each one of these companies stating exactly what happened and how I felt that these issues shouldn’t have happened for reasons x, y, and z. I received replies within two days and now have a part for Lincoln’s Turbo Flyer, Read more...
