Friday Favorites: Progressive Collapsible Produce Keeper

This thing is SAAAA-WEEET! OK, I'm a little too excited about it. How can I not be?! This little thing has kept my grapes fresh and perky for going on three weeks. THREE WEEKS! I ordered more: one for strawberries and one for lettuce (the 4.7-Qt. Lettuce Keeper). I can't wait to see how it goes! Keep healthy food fresh longer? Um, yes please! This purchase was made on, and I do not regret taking the chance on it (cuz usually you can't return stuff). It can store several things, Read more...

Weigh In Wednesday: When do you workout?

Now with two kids, I feel like I have NO TIME FOR ANYTHING! My mornings are uncertain, my days are busy and packed so I can spend the least amount of time away from my kids, and my evenings are spent cooking dinner, preparing for the next day, and cuddling my babies...oh, and my husband. Now, more than ever, I feel there is no time. Go ahead and say it..."MAKE TIME!" Well, OK, smarty pants! When do YOU workout? Read more...

Word(s) for 2014

A lot (A LOT) of people make resolutions or goals for a new year. I make goals, which I'm still working on making for 2014. UGH! This new year, I've read a lot of other bloggers picking their "word of the year." Since I accomplished only half of my 2013 goals, focusing on a word or two for the year may be a good thing for me -- especially while I'm still working on getting those goals together. I figure my words will be something that keeps me in check even if I'm not getting to my specific goals. Read more...

Weigh In Wednesday: Do you “take off” for the holidays

I LOVE this time of the year. One of the things I love most is the food! Not only do I love the fruits and veggies in season this time of year, but OOOOOH the stuff you can make! I'm not too proud to tell you I stuff my face at Thanksgiving and eat whatever Christmas cookie I want. I don't feel bad about it. I just don't. What for? It's what I want, so I'm going to do it. I don't freak out on Jan. 1 either. I simply see it as a time to review and create goals and start fresh. I guess you could Read more...

Weight In Wednesday: Are you perfect?

Yesterday I had one of those Pretzel Pub Chicken sandwiches from Wendy's. It was not cheap, NOT healthy, and not vegetarian. I got the combo -- with Sprite. I'm not perfect. I'm trying. When I do something like this, I don't sit there and hate every minute (I LOVED it!) nor do I hate myself after. I'm comfortable knowing that most of what I put in my body follows my "rules." My family orders pizza sometimes. Sometimes, we get Chinese food. Sometimes we eat out -- without coupons! SOMETIMES! I Read more...

Favorites Friday: Lunch Boxes

Since it's back-to-school time I figure there's some extra special attention being paid to lunch boxes. This is good because I need to know your favorite lunch box! My son is only three but has carried two different lunch boxes since starting solids. One was a Thirty-One Gifts lunch box (which was super cute, but got dirty inside and out quick), and the one he carries now (which is super stinky and also dirty). I'm looking for something --that won't get too dirty (or show the dirt) quickly --that Read more...

Top Tip Tuesday: Read the Comments

Yesterday I made stuffed shells. I've never made them before, but I was excited to try it out. As with most recipes, it had the ingredients list and then the instructions below that. When I got to the point where I was to make the filling, the recipes read "mix filling ingredients together..." So, reading through the ingredients, I mixed everything from below the pasta to above the pasta sauce (because that doesn't go in the filling, right?). Done and done. Well, no. Below the pasta sauce Read more...

Weigh In Wednesday: Bring or Buy?

It's back to school! YAY! YAY! YAY! Noooooo. I don't have any school-aged kids. Does that mean I can't walk up and down the school supply aisle or try to find a way to get new notebooks to use? Maybe. I love this time of year. I always have. Yes, I loved going back to school. My boy goes to preschool, and I pack his lunch everyday. I don't have to, but I do for reasons you may or may not understand. We cool. I intend on packing his lunch for the rest of his school career unless things change Read more...
